While
in Uganda my heart was drawn to Betty, a poor village
girl. Undereducated, she had found work only as a
servant girl. I observed her tireless work day after
day. I knew that without Christ, she would be separated
from God's love forever.
I felt
compassion for her, so through an interpreter I led her
to receive Jesus Christ. While thinking about Betty the
Lord challenged me with the most important question of
my life... He
asked, "Who serves the servants?" I thought,
"No one... the job of a servant is to serve, not to
be served." The
He said to me, " I WANT YOU
TO BE A SERVANT TO THE SERVANTS OF THE EARTH. I
want you to love the lost, the lonely, the sick, the
leper, the unwanted, the dirty, the neglected, and the
poor. I am sending you to be their servant."
